Haiti Update

kids

Our work in Montrouis continues to grow by leaps and bounds. In 2015 we completed a second floor to our community center in the first 6 months of the year and then quickly began raising funds to begin a primary school! It is hard at times to believe but the first full school year has been completed. Our partnerships in Haiti have provide just over 300 students with a school uniform, books, lunch 5 days a week and most importantly an education! 20 members of our community have jobs and are getting a regular pay check. The school has been a tremendous success and we are hoping to expand in the coming years to provide the kids in our neighborhood with a secondary school. It has not been an easy road; government regulation, cost overruns and logistics of planning for 300+ kids and 20 employees are a challenge we gladly accept for what is happening each day in Montrouis. The pictures tell a better story then we ever could. You never know – maybe the next President of Haiti is in this bunch…
